On vendetta

When spring comes, we will manure the plains of Kosovo with the bones of Serbs, for we, Albanians, have suffered too much to forget.
Isa Boletini, leaving the Ambassadors Conference in London, 1913

Cruelty lays the path for hatred and hatred makes its way down to more cruelty and massacre. This is the deadlock if only the victims won’t stop at certain point. Torturing another person is a torture both for the victim and the butcher. After participating in tortures (either side), after watching tortures a person can not keep its psyche balanced. And since the balance between instincts and social restrictions is broken it is impossible to reconstruct it. Yes, the victim of violence becomes blood-thirsty and revengeful. And killing and torturing is not the way for quenching this thirst. Victim needs medical treatment. Butcher needs medical treatment as well supported by isolation from the rest of the society until full recovery if ever.
